THE BAMBOO COOKS!Recipes from the Legendary Nightclubby Richard O’Brien & Patti Habib The BamBoo was a long-standing, groovy and loud Toronto nightclub and restaurant on the trendy Queen Street West strip. My work on this book of recipes from the club is what I think of as production design. The overall design concept was devised by illustrator Barbara Klunder, whose style really embodied the club's graphic sensibility. What I worked from were a few sample spreads and numerous black and white spot illustrations she had created for the book. I supplemented these with images from her dingbat font, Klunder Script Kreatures. The companion alphabetic font, Klunder Script was used for the heads and recipe titles.
